Squidly Buddy Knitting Pattern

My son wanted a squid plush as an Easter present so I made one! Here's the pattern

Materials

My main color is Paintbox Solids Red Wine with contrast color of Midnight Blue. The eye detail is duplicate stitched in Knitpicks Compass Kettle. Any sock yarn should work! These are 70% superwash wool/30% nylon yarns in a fingering weight.

Notation

Knitting Terms:

Main Color

Arms

Make 8 Starting at top of arm, cast on 4 leaving a long tail (6 in approximately).

Tenticles

Make 2 Starting at top of tenticle, cast on 4 leaving a long tail (6 in approximately).

Body

Pick up and knit 2 stitches in row below cast on edge per arm and tenticle in the following order: tenticle, arm, arm, arm, arm, tenticle, arm, arm, arm, arm. Place marker for beginning of round and join.

Duplicate stitch eyes just above two tenticles before moderately stuffing body with stuffing and yarn ends. Leave arms and tenticles unstuffed. Using scrap yarn, cinch body closed by gathering unused inner stitches of the arms/tenticles, then secure.

Congrats on completing your squid buddy!
